Dako Dakovski was born on August 7, 1919 in Tarnak, Lovech, Bulgaria. He was a Bulgarian film director and actor. Shortly after his graduation from Moscow Cinema Institute (VGIK), he had made Under the Joke (1952), a screen version of the classic Bulgarian novel by Ivan Vazov - the story about a Bulgarian village at the time of the last rebellion against the Turks (1976).
