1813年，朱塞佩·威尔第出生於靠布塞托的隆孔雷，父亲是旅馆老板。激起威尔第早年音乐雄心的是一位布赛托商人巴霍.兹，他不仅提供威尔第全城最佳的音乐教育，当威尔第七岁时又再度出资送他到米兰音乐学院学习。
