Prolific composer, conductor, arranger, orchestrator, clarinetist and educator, educated at the Conservatory of Dijon and the Philadelphia Musical Academy. He studied with Paul Fauchet, Georges Caussades, and Gabriel Pares. In 1935: Officier d'Academie, in France. He arrived in the United States in 1918 and became an American citizen in 1923.
