Terence Beesley was an actor and writer. He was born in London to Irish parents and attended St Marylebone Grammar School before training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art from 1981 to 1984. Beesley was married to Ashley Jensen from 2007 until his death in 2017. They met while acting in Tom Courtenay's King Lear at the Royal Exchange theatre in Manchester.
