At the end of WWII, Hanako, a Japanese woman, becomes separated from her daughter while going from Manchuria to Japan. She adopts a boy that she finds wandering on the streets of Seoul. Twenty years later, she learns that her daughter is alive and was raised by the parents of her adopted son
